• Manufactured by companies who practice ethical and fair employment and wage practices.
• Practical from a parent's point of view
• Made locally
• Made of renewable, recyclable or natural or organic materials
• Packaged in recyclable materials, or having minimal or no packaging
• Free of licensed or branded characters

In addition, we apply these specific criteria to the following product categories:

Baby Carriers

• All baby & toddler carriers we sell are practical for parents, designed for wearability and comfort over time, safe and nurturing for children.

Bedding

• All bedding we sell is organic and has not been treated with synthetic flame retardants Mattresses are made with safe and non-toxic materials and are not treated with synthetic flame retardants. Mattresses made with organic material are available.

Body & Wellness Products

• All body products, for both mother and baby, have either received a low hazard rating from the Environmental Working Group/Skin Deep database or if not rated, do not contain any high hazard ingredients.
• Teas and tinctures are formulated by trusted companies, using largely organic materials

Books, DVD's & CD's

• We carefully choose the books we stock, carrying only those that promote informed choice for parents and viewpoints across the spectrum
• All books are personally reviewed by one of our staff prior to being added
• We do not sell DVD's intended for babies or children
• CD's are ideally locally produced and culturally diverse
• Non-synthesized music and instruments are preferred

Feeding Items

• We strive to make glass and stainless steel bottles available as an alternative to plastic
• Our plastic bottles are all BPA and Phthalate-free.
• We carry items other feeding items that are usually made of plastic in alternative materials, such as natural rubber, silicone, glass and wood.

Infant Clothing

• All of our infant clothing lines are made with organic materials with the exception of some accessories, which are mostly made with natural fibers.

Toys

• No toy in our store is made of plastic, rather they are made of natural materials and use only natural dyes
• Stuffed or soft toys are made of natural fiber, organic preferred, and contain no synthetic stuffing
